The Carte Armless Dining Chair, like its sibling with arms, was inspired by a design by French architect Paul Dupré-Lafon and made for a Mattaliano client who needed seating for his game table (carte is French for card). The wood frame’s slanted lines, shown here in a sophisticated cerused oak, make more room at the table for additional guests. Handsome decorative screws give the chair’s lean frame a high-tech touch that can give its companion piece—be it a table for dining or gaming—a contemporary update.
